053 SEB-induced IL-13 production in CLA+ memory T cells defines Th2 high and Th2 low responders in atopic dermatitis

چکیده
There is currently no clear in vitro model to study the Th2 status atopic dermatitis (AD). Staphylococcus aureus, skin-homing cutaneous lymphocyte-associated antigen (CLA)+ memory T cells and IL-13 are key players AD. Circulating CLA+ reflect abnormalities We have studied CLA+/- T-cell response staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB) when cocultured with autologous lesional epidermal from adult non-treated moderate-to-severe AD patients. Also, plasma mRNA expression skin biopsies were analysed.

Th2 Cytokines and Atopic Dermatitis.
Atopic dermatitis (AD), a chronic relapsing inflammatory skin disease, is increasing in prevalence around the world. Intensive research is ongoing to understand the mechanisms involved in the development of AD and offer new treatment options for patients suffering from AD. In this review, we highlight the importance of allergic Th2 responses in the development of the disease and summarize relev...
متن کاملEndogenous IL-11 signaling is essential in Th2- and IL-13-induced inflammation and mucus production.
IL-11 and IL-11 receptor (R)alpha are induced by Th2 cytokines. However, the role(s) of endogenous IL-11 in antigen-induced Th2 inflammation has not been fully defined. We hypothesized that IL-11, signaling via IL-11Ralpha, plays an important role in aeroallergen-induced Th2 inflammation and mucus metaplasia. To test this hypothesis, we compared the responses induced by the aeroallergen ovalbum...
متن کاملTh2 activities induced during virgin T cell priming in the absence of IL-4, IL-13, and B cells.
Virgin T cells being primed to Th2-inducing or Th1-inducing Ags, respectively, start to synthesize IL-4 or IFN-gamma as they begin to proliferate. Parallel respective induction of B cells to produce gamma1 or gamma2a switch transcripts provides additional evidence of early divergent Th activity. This report concerns the roles of IL-4, IL-13, and B cells in these early events in vivo. Th2 respon...
متن کاملA possible role for IL-17A in establishing Th2 inflammation in murine models of atopic dermatitis
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is associated with the effects of T helper type 2 (Th2) and Th22 cytokines. Recent studies, however, have also implicated Th17 in acute AD. Functional studies of Th2 and Th22 cytokines revealed their roles in generating molecular changes during AD; IL-17A's role, however, has yet to be defined. The report by Nakajima et al. (this issue) begins to define that role by demon...
